Stronger than the original!

Here is the Borg 9 phenotype B. It differs from the original phenotype (A) by the presence of a tail giving it a strong resemblance to the Carolina Reaper.

This is the chocolate color variant of the Borg 9 chilli, a chili initially created by Jon Harper, an experienced farmer from the UK who is the creator of this hybrid.
So we selected this phenotype on the one hand for its rarity, but especially for its beauty but also its power for its appearance and also its canicular strength!

To better understand, here is the story of its origin. To highlight the Borg 9 (whose original color is red), Jon first designed the 7BBG (7 Pot Bubblegum) known for its calyx and stem that are the same color as the fruit itself. To do it he crossed a Trinidad Moruga with a Yellow 7 Pot. Later, he crossed the 7BBG with the Naglah (Bhut Jolokia X 7 Douglah Pot ) and the result obtained is then the Borg 9!

What does Borg 9 mean?

Why did Jon Harper call it the Borg 9 cross. Some say it's the nickname of actor Ernest Borgnine. Some say it bears the name of the famous Borg extraterrestrials of the Star Trek series. If ever more information reaches us, we will correct that.

What to expect with phenotype B?

The appearance of Borg 9 phenotype B does not deceive, its rough texture and its shape reminiscent of the Carolina Reaper ranks it among the strongest peppers in the world. No official test has been done to date to demonstrate its strength, but believe us, if it's the extreme you want, you'll be served!

To note :

  1. the chocolate version of the Borg 9 is more loaded with capcainin than the red version
  2. Phenotype A will also be present on most plants, which will give you two different forms of pepper on the same plant
  3. the seeds of this rare pepper being in pre-order, the shipments are planned as from Monday, October 28, 2009.
